The creation of Fatras was necessary because of the importance taken by the management of the work of my grandfather over the years. To manage an inheritance and a history as those left by Jacques Pr\u00e9vert requires an implication of heart but also of time, and an adequate structure. It is indeed necessary to answer to the requests of all kinds, comedians anxious to put on a show, communities or museums in search of an exhibition, universities in search of manuscripts, journalists asking for a photography, publishing companies intending to republish a sold-out work, etc., while trying hard to manage at best the work, beside the literary and music publishers, the movie producers, and to do our best so its distribution is the most important and the most fair possible. Mostly, I try to answer to these requests with my team while respecting as much as possible Jacques Pr\u00e9vert’s work. The moral right can authorize but also forbid\u2026 It is thus a question of listening to the musical adaptations before endorsing them,\u00a0 reading again the scenic adaptations, viewing the movies, advising and directing at best the requests, representing the company during the diverse demonstrations in France and elsewhere, etc.
\nOur room for manoeuvre is not so big because the property right often escapes us; numerous rights had been given up to the publishers by my very grandfather. His inheritance implies numerous obligations and a constant work which I chose to develop by means of a company and with a team. Jacques Pr\u00e9vert is one of the rare authors to make a structure live.<\/p>\n
